Developing your 'Solid Self' blog

"Solid Self" is staying true to your principles, values and integrity when feeling pressure in a relationship. Choosing how to respond, balancing thinking and emotion. Being able to stay true to yourself AND staying connected to your significant other.

Welcome to my blog where I will be regularly posting reflections on human and relationship predicaments and alternate ways to find a way through the challenges with respect for oneself and others. Many of these reflections come straight from recent therapy sessions with clients (obviously no client information will be identified in these posts?

AS ABOVE SO BELOW....AND BETWEEN                                   the patterns that we are and belong to

It seems, a universal aspect of nature is the organising tendancy toward patterns, namely geometric and fractal patterns. A fractal is a natural phenomenon that presents as a detailed pattern that repeats itself at multiple levels of observation. Fractal patterns are evident at the broadest level, in the clusters and super clusters of stars and galaxies, and at the microscopic level of bacteria...and beyond.

Other fractal patterns have been identified in the systemic organisation processes in the minds and bodies of living organisms. Self organising systems like ecosystems, the human body and communities of beings rely on the healthy coordination, interaction and working together of its different parts to maintain survival, and all demonstrate a fractal pattern.
Research has shown that fractal images have a soothing effect on the nervous system, our brain structure, self concept, speech patterns, personality structure, intentional behavior and social relationships all have a fractal organisation.

With out of balance systems, disease develops in the body, the mind, emotions and spirit become disorganised, relationships with partners, children and families develop toxic patterns and break down, and social and environmental degredation abounds.

The key ingedients of healthy organisms, relationships and communities are the qualities of strong connections and clear communication that promote an in sync interactional coherance, and flexability, adaptability and the spirit of all working together for the greater good.
